Edit DNS at the provider your nameservers actually use, not an inactive copy of the zone.
Before you start
Nameservers and DNS records are different. Removing MX or TXT records can break email. Do not create both an A record and CNAME for the same name.
What to do
- Confirm where your domain DNS is hosted. If it is elsewhere, edit records there.
- In DirectAdmin, select the domain and open Account Manager > DNS Management.
- Copy the existing record before changing it.
- Use the exact type, name and value supplied by the service you are connecting.
- Save one change at a time and test after its TTL and cached DNS have had time to update.
Check the result
Check the affected hostname or email function, not just the homepage.
If you need a hand
If you are unsure which record to replace or whether a trailing dot is needed, send support the provider instructions.
Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
