Bring back data from a DirectAdmin backup when you need to recover an earlier version.
Before you start
Restoring can overwrite newer data. A Softaculous app backup is not the same as a DirectAdmin account backup; use the tool that created it.
What to do
- Before restoring, save a fresh copy of the current data if possible. Ask us for help if the website takes orders or has changed since the backup.
- Open Create/Restore Backups or Site Backup. Select the completed DirectAdmin backup archive; upload it to your account backups folder if needed.
- Choose the restore option and review the available data selections. Restore only what you intend to replace.
- Confirm the restore once and wait for completion.
- Test the affected website, database or mailbox and check the completion messages.
Check the result
Check the recovered data and any changes made after the backup date. If the archive is missing or incompatible, send us its filename and date instead of attempting to unpack it over your website.
