How to restore a Softaculous backup

Restoring can replace newer files and data with an earlier version.

What to do

  1. Identify the correct site, date and included data.
  2. Back up the current site where possible.
  3. Choose Restore for the selected backup under Backups and Restore.
  4. Review the destination and options before confirming.
  5. Wait, clear relevant caches and test pages, login and forms.

Check the result

Confirm the intended recovery point and test shopping functions if applicable.

If you need a hand

Ask us before restoring a store database that received newer orders. Recovery can lose activity after the backup date.

Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
