Give your family photos a home of their own. Piwigo is one of the gallery apps you can look for in Softaculous.
Before you start
Installing an app does not replace planning your website. Back up existing content first; never enable file overwrite to get past an error.
What to do
- Sign in to DirectAdmin and open Softaculous Apps Installer.
- Search for Piwigo, open its overview and choose Install. If it is missing, ask us whether your account supports it.
- Choose your domain and HTTPS once a trusted certificate is working. Use an empty folder; leave In Directory blank only when the domain root is empty and you want the app there.
- Fill in the site details, a unique administrator name, a strong password and an email you can access. Review any requirements or optional extras before continuing.
- Choose Install once. Save the website and administrator addresses from the completion screen.
- Create an album and upload a few resized copies of photos. For a private gallery, set album permissions and create family accounts before adding personal pictures.
Check the result
Open the website and sign in to its administrator area. If installation fails, send us the error before trying again.
If you need a hand
Open a support request with your domain and the message you see. Please leave out passwords and private account information.
Keep family photos private
Check the album while signed out and with a separate family account. Do not assume a new album is private. Avoid sharing sensitive location details, keep original photos in a separate backup, and ask permission before publishing someone else’s pictures.
