How to remove a test app from Softaculous

Clear away an installation you no longer need without accidentally deleting your main website.

Before you start

Removal deletes selected resources. Detaching an installation from Softaculous is different: it removes the management record while leaving the app in place.

What to do

  1. Make a backup if there is anything you may want to keep.
  2. Find the test installation in Softaculous and double-check its domain, folder and database.
  3. Choose Remove. Review the directory, database and database-user removal options carefully.
  4. Only confirm removal when those resources belong exclusively to the unwanted installation. Stop and ask us if you are unsure.

Check the result

Check that the test app is gone and your main website still works. Removing an app does not cancel your hosting or domain registration.

If you need a hand
