What to check when HTTPS shows a certificate warning

Check the hostname, trust chain and expiry before entering sensitive information.

What to do

  1. Check the full URL for a spelling error.
  2. Inspect certificate details without entering passwords or payment data.
  3. Look for expiry, an uncovered hostname or a self-signed issuer.
  4. Review provisioning and whether DNS points to the intended server.
  5. Send support the hostname, warning and start time.

Check the result

Retest the exact address after repair.

If you need a hand

Do not disable browser security. Mixed-content images on an otherwise trusted HTTPS page need separate URL checks.

Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
