Self-signed certificates are for controlled testing, not automatically trusted public HTTPS.
Before you start
Do not use this for customer login or payments, share private keys, or ask visitors to bypass warnings.
What to do
- Select the test domain and open SSL/TLS Certificates or SSL Certificates.
- If offered, choose Create your own self-signed certificate.
- Enter the exact hostname and requested details, then generate and save.
- Confirm it is selected for that test domain.
- If only automatic provisioning is shown, ask support which creation options are available.
Check the result
Browsers normally still show a trust warning; that does not mean public HTTPS is ready.
If you need a hand
Use a trusted certificate for a live website. Do not replace an existing working certificate merely to follow this guide.
Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
