How to set up your mailbox in a mail app

Use your account secure connection settings on a phone or computer.

Before you start

Your supplied account settings take precedence over common port examples.

What to do

  1. Get incoming and outgoing settings from the panel or welcome message.
  2. Add an account and choose IMAP for synchronised mail.
  3. Use the full address as username and the mailbox password.
  4. Apply the supplied hostname, ports and encryption. IMAP commonly uses 993 with TLS; SMTP commonly uses 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with TLS.
  5. Enable outgoing authentication and test sending and receiving.

If you need a hand

Ask support about certificate mismatches rather than turning encryption off.

Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
