Work with website files in your browser without installing an FTP application.
What to do
- Open DirectAdmin > File Manager, usually under System Info & Files.
- Browse to domains, your domain, then public_html for the normal website root. Use the root in Domain Setup if your site differs.
- Choose Upload Files, or select a file to download, rename or edit it.
- Before changing a live file, download a backup copy.
- Save and test the affected page.
Check the result
Confirm you used the intended domain and folder. Enable hidden-file display where available if a file such as .htaccess is missing.
If you need a hand
Do not delete application configuration or unfamiliar folders to troubleshoot. Configuration files can contain database passwords; keep copies private.
Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
