How to request a trusted SSL certificate

Let visitors use HTTPS without a self-signed certificate warning.

Before you start

Leave a working certificate in place until its replacement is ready.

What to do

  1. Confirm the selected domain and subdomains point to this server.
  2. Open SSL/TLS Certificates for the domain.
  3. Choose automatic ACME or Let’s Encrypt provisioning where offered.
  4. Select only the names needed and start provisioning.
  5. Check the exact hostname over HTTPS and review renewal status.

Check the result

The browser should accept the certificate without a trust warning.

If you need a hand

Send failed validation messages to support rather than repeatedly requesting certificates. Wildcards can require DNS validation.

Open a support request. Include the affected domain and what you tried. Leave out passwords, full payment details, and private keys.
